Yemen is being starved.
24 million people are going through the worst humanitarian crisis. 12 million children have been displaced, have no access to clean water, food, basic healthcare or education.
Tens of thousands of men, women and children have been killed In airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition since 2015, but even more have been killed by preventable diseases like malaria and cholera.
If COVID-19 has brought down even the richest of nations, can we even begin to understand what it has done to Yemen, a nation on the brink of dying out?
For the Yemeni people, if the airstrikes, malnutrition, cholera or malaria doesn’t kill you, COVID most certainly will.
Yemen needs your help, now.
We, as a family, have been sending money to members of our family in Yemen who are working on the ground, guaranteeing that it will reach those who need it the most, and quickly, before it’s too late.
We have also been working with the CEO of Al Watan Charity based in Sanaa over the past couple of years and have helped her with donations we collected from our community. We guarantee each and every penny of the money donated will reach the people most in need.
These are some of the avenues the money you donate today will go to:
- Orphanages: Supplying food, water tanks, uniforms and school equipment.
- Women: Supporting widows, divorcees, the elderly, the disabled and single mothers who need it.
- Hearing aids: Especially for kids who have lost their hearing due to the bombing.
- Medication: For those who cannot afford to pay for it, or to help with medical procedures or medical care.
- Water: Providing tanks and filters in towns with no access to clean water.
- Training: For women to support their families by Henna painting, sewing and baking. Sewing machines are provided for those who take up sewing.
An example of what your donation can do: A water tank that costs around £300 pounds can make a huge difference to a whole town by providing them with clean safe water for hygiene and for food purposes.
As Yemenis, we get asked (a lot) about the most trusted ways to help our people in Yemen, therefore, we decided to create this page, and are calling on you to help us rescue, feed, protect and educate the people of Yemen by donating to this fund.
Helpful information
- The funds are being withdrawn to be sent to a charity based in Yemen called "Al Watan"
- The funds will be withdrawn by myself (the organiser) and then will be transferred to the CEO of the Charity via Western Union as their preferred method of transfer.
- All funds will be transferred on the same day as withdrawal
- The Commission to transfer will be paid by our team so all the money will reach the beneficiaries.
- We will constantly update this page with the work done from your donations, so please be sure to check out the page often.
