Jill Mangels Recovery Fund

At the age of only 45 the life of Jill Mangels, wife and mother or two, took a tragic turn for the worse. On April 5, 2015 Jill was rushed to the hospital via ambulance due to becoming violently ill. The initial assessment was that she had a severe case of food poisoning. However, when the unbearable pain continued and would not subside the doctors ordered a CT scan. The results were shocking - Jill had a clot in the main artery leading to her intestines. The medical term for this is mesenteric artery ischemia. This was a life threatening blockage of a critical artery.

Jill was immediately scheduled for emergency surgery. The doctors successfully implanted a stent in the artery, however substantial damage had already occurred. Unfortunately Jill had to undergo yet another surgery a few days later. Jill remained in the ICU for 10 days until she was moved to a standard room for an additional 9 days. Jill was recently discharged from the hospital, but she faces a long road to recovery.

Jill is a woman of deep faith and hope. She wholeheartedly believes that her life was spared due to prayers and God's divine intervention. The doctors have told her that "not many people make it through this." They continue to be amazed daily at her strength and continual progress. She has been told that she is truly a "living miracle." We are thanking God for saving Jill's life and truly believe that what the enemy meant for harm, God will turn around for good! (Genesis 50:20)

Jill and her husband, Drew, are a self-employed team and do not have insurance. With Jill being incapacitated Drew has been working double time. The financial strain of 2 surgeries, 10 days in the ICU and continuous days in the hospital has taken a tremendous toll on their finances. Many people have asked how they can help Jill and her family. The best way to assist is by helping to ease their financial burden.

God bless you and thank you for your prayers and support for the Mangels family.
