TA Liz W. from LBHS Loss of Mother Support

Liz Wisey’s (Long Beach School District, Teacher Assistant) beloved Mother passed away on Wednesday, June 18th.

Liz’s Mom (Ana), was such a beautiful, strong, independent, and faithful woman. She brought Liz to America from Bogota, Colombia. Flying into JFK was a dream come true for Liz’s Mom and it was then that Ana discovered that she could learn English while making a living. She found an opening for a Teacher Assistant position for a nursery school located in Great Neck, NY and that would indeed inspire Liz to become a Teacher Assistant too. Ana’s love and respect for children was very evident and it’s that same love and respect that Liz is wanting to honor now, at the time of her Mom’s passing.

Liz is doing her best with the resources she has, following her husband’s unexpected passing at the age of 60 in 2020 and just two weeks later the passing of her brother-in-law. As a result, Liz also had to move out of her home of over 30+ years, where she raised her family since it was tied to her husband’s employment. Needless to say, it hasn’t been easy and yet as many of you know she still keeps her head held high with a great sense of faith.

Liz, always so caring and loving, willing to help out however she can, has been encouraged from dear friends within her school district to create this. If any of you know Liz, half the time, she needs help with her Chromebook lol, so of course (her daughter Jen is helping out write this :).

With all that said, Liz is wanting peace of mind that come Wednesday June 25th she has the means to help give her Mom the funeral she deserves. This fund will help Liz with funeral obligations for her Mom, who lived a long life became a proud US Citizen, and deserves at the simplest a beautiful Roman Catholic funeral mass and burial.

Liz really appreciates all of your kind thoughts, condolences, prayers, and contributions. *Her daughter Jen (Me) wants all of you to know thank you, I was laid off recently in the latest BigTech layoff that effected many in Advertising & Data Mgmt) so my funds support residual bills and I too used my savings to help support my Mom after my Dad’s passing. My brother has a Family of Four, and he too is doing what he can as well. So, thanks so much from all of us! We will pay it forward one day too!).
