Hey everyone, I’m now going on three months with out a car and I have been relying on rides to and from work. My car is at the mechanics and unfortunately it is the car’s engine. This means that it will cost about $6,000 to fix it.

I have tried everything possible. I’ve applied for loans but I am turned down every time. I have tried to see if a dealership will take my broken car as a trade in, however I still owe over $8,000 on this car. (From my previous marriage) For this reason no dealership will accept it as a trade in. And unfortunately with such a big car loan still under my name, I cannot qualify for another car loan to get a car that works.

I am working full time, going to school full time and trying to get ahead after my divorce. I am also financially helping my two children through college. Recently I was able to get a promotion at work, which will give me just enough to afford my bills day to day.

However, without a car, and now needing to move, I am finding myself in a dire situation. And I may soon not even have access to rides to my job for much longer. I have looked to see if public transit is an option, however with where my job is located and the cost of traveling twice every day, this will not be an option either.

If you can help me to raise enough money to fix my car, it would literally be a life saver.
