Nepal Medical Volunteers

By now everyone is aware of the devastating earthquake that shook Nepal recently. Major aftershocks continue. The deathtoll is over 7000 as of 5/3, and expected to rise.
We are planning an upcoming trip to aid in the relief effort by offering our medical skills. We are paying our own way, so 100% of contributions received will be used directly for those affected by the earthquake. We will use some of the funds to purchase supplies that are needed there, and the rest to purchase supplies within Nepal for the relief efforts, and cash will be given where needed.
Mahera Jeevanjee and I met while working on the relief efforts in Haiti after the massive earthquake there. She has a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of the Incarnate Word's Physical Therapy Program in San Antonio, Texas. I am a physician for UCLA and am incoming Chief of Staff of the Motion Picture and Television Fund Hospital. We remain committed to aiding wherever and however we can.
We have locked down the dates and depart on Wednesday May 6, 2015. We hope to connect with local Nepalese organizations that we have been in contact with to maximize our time and resources for the most benefit.

**supplies being gathered primarily consist of NSAIDs, antibiotics, anti-diarrheals, wound care supplies, suture kits, water purification tabs, tarps, blankets, etc. If anyone has access to these supplies and would like to assist, please feel free to contact us. We will try to buy warm clothing for people in tents, and tents for people needing shelter once in Nepal for cost effectiveness and ease of transportation.**
