Laptops for schools

School closures across the country have interrupted the learning of millions of students across the UK. There is now considerably more emphasis on online learning at home. Education is the great leveller of social inequality, however, sadly, not all children have the same access to it. During the pandemic, the divide between outcomes for richer and poorer students has grown. Poorer students are less likely to have dedicated access to a computer at home, meaning they are more likely to miss out on virtual lessons, struggle to complete homework, and fall behind.

The school that we are starting with is Robert Clack School of Science in Dagenham - this is where two of my siblings attended secondary school.

We are raising money to provide laptops for their most disadvantaged pupils, providing them with tools they need to have a brighter future. Every £150-200 raised will buy a laptop for a child who does not have one at home.

We are also collecting old laptops - sending them to an IT recycling company for cleaning/refurbishment. These will then be dispatched to the schools.
