Please help us save this sweet girl, Athena! She's only about 1.5 years old and scheduled to LOSE HER LIFE TODAY! She came to the shelter in December of 2023 as an "owner surrender" for not getting along with the other dog in the household.

Sadly, she's not handling kennel life very well. She jumps and spins in her concrete kennel whenever she's overly stimulated. Once she's out of her kennel, the jumping and spinning stops and she's the world's sweetest dog. Athena LOVES people. She also loves treats and will do anything you ask her to like sit, stay, down, shake etc. She's been in play group at the shelter and gets along with larger dogs.

Athena has some on-leash reactivity... but this can be worked on with some training and isn't a reason this sweet girl should lose her life. She was recently on a pack walk (on leash) with other shelter dogs and adjusted nicely after about 15 minutes. Considering she has only been out of her concrete kennel about a dozen times in the last 3 months, the East Valley volunteers were so proud of her adjustment.

We really believe with a little bit of decompression and some training she will be on a path to finding the correct forever home for her. Humble K9 has graciously agreed to accept Athena into their amazing Board and Train program. Our goal of $5,000 will help secure her a spot for 5 weeks while we work on finding her that forever home. Athena deserves a chance at life. She deserves to be with a loving family. Please help us get her there. Thank you for your time and consideration!
