Help Save Ranger's Life

Last night my Australian Cattle Dog, Ranger was hit by a car while my son and I were walking him outside of our home. My son was holding the leash, and when a car drove up the street, Ranger bolted and my son accidentally dropped the leash. After he was hit, the car drove off without saying a word. My son is absolutely devastated and traumatized.
We took him to the emergency vet clinic last night. After getting an x-ray the vet said that he would need to be evaluated by a local orthopedic specialist. This morning, the ortho said that Ranger has a fractured spine and his front right leg is fractured in three places. He said he would not be able to treat him and I would need to send him to another specialist.
I found a bed for him at UW in Madison, Wisconsin, but Ranger's treatment is estimated to cost between $10,000 and $15,000. In order for Ranger to even be treated, I need to put down a $7500 deposit. He was hospitalized at the emergency clinic overnight and is still in their care, with an IV morphine drip. I applied for care credit and scratch, but I was denied.
This is an absolute nightmare. Any help is greatly, greatly appreciated.
