Overview
This April, our team of three (Tyler Martin, Eirene Kowal, and Veronica Lee) with help from many others competed in the state Skills USA competition for Engineering Technology. Out of 16 teams we got first, and are selected to represent the state of Illinois at the National Conference. If you want to know more about or project look below. The National Conference is in Louisville, Kentucky and is June 19-23. This competition is not at all funded by our school and we have to raise all of the funding ourselves. The donations would go towards; registration fees, hotel rooms, food, and transportation. Any help you can give us would mean alot. Thanks for your time!
More about us
We are three seniors. Tyler Martin will be attending Grand Valley State for Mechanical Engineering through the honors college. His passions are all things space and hopes to one day work for Space X or NASA. Eirene Kowal will be attending the Milwaukee School of Engineering majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Veronica Lee will be attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and will be majoring in Mechanical Engineering. She hopes to one day become a Disney Imagineer and focus on design.
Our Project
Our project is a Self Contained Water station that can be used in third-world countries, camp grounds, and more. This station purifies, filters, stores, and dispenses water. It features modular attatchments that can be selected by the client such as; showers, sinks, composting toilets, and hoses. The total cost is around $1700 , and they are mobile and can last for decades.
