If you have been to Weed Patch Music Company in Nashville, Indiana in the past one year then you have probably met Sarai! Sarai has been a complete lifesaver here at Weed Patch serving as our Assistant Manager since February of 2021. You probably recognize them as the bright and friendly face that greets you when you walk in the door, the person helping your kiddo learn about all sorts of fun musical instruments, or the one enthusiastically teaching you how to play ukulele, banjo, musical spoons, hammered dulcimer, and more.

 

This past December while working for their other job at a Tree Removal Service, an accident occurred leaving Sarai with a complete and permanent spinal cord injury, meaning that they will have no sensation or movement below their ribs permanently. In addition to a spinal cord injury, their ankle sustained a significant amount of compacted debris and multiple fractures increasing and continuing their risk for amputation.

 

Sarai will have a long road to recovery with healing being a multi-year process. In addition to learning their new way of mobility, they will also be navigating a world and life that is largely inaccessible. This GoFundMe is intended to contribute to the massive costs associated with this injury. Funds will provide for adaptations to their wheelchair, adaptive home devices, accessibility for their vehicle, medical supplies, housing, lost wages, and so much more.

 

Without the support of their parents, Sarai has relied heavily on the unwavering support of their siblings through this ordeal.
