My name is Rebecca Murphy. I live in Ireland and am raising funds for the family of my friend Mahmoud and his wife Rawan in Gaza, Palestine.
The story below is the story of our close friend Mahmoud, a victim of the war of genocide and starvation in Gaza. The donation will help Mahmoud, his pregnant wife Rawan, and their two daughters, Miral, 5, and Laila, 3, survive the Israeli onslaught and, ultimately, rebuild their homes and lives.
Mahmoud, like many others, had his family's life shattered during the Israeli attack on Gaza, Palestine. Since October 2023, Mahmoud was initially hit by shrapnel in his back and barely survived. His eldest daughter, Miral, also sustained head and face injuries, adding to their misery.
Then Mahmoud's home was bombed. He and his family were forced to flee, and their displacement and search for safe haven began. Mahmoud's family has been displaced several times during the war on Gaza, and they are still searching for a safe haven that does not exist. They currently live in a tent, facing hunger, malnutrition, water shortages, overcrowding, unsanitary conditions, and harsh weather conditions, including extreme cold and rain in the winter months, and now extreme heat. This situation has taken a toll on Mahmoud's body and that of his family. He has lost weight, and his mental and physical health has deteriorated. Mahmoud's wife, Rawan, is 24 years old and is now pregnant and requires extensive care and food, none of which is available here.
On top of this, their hopes were shattered when they learned that their home had been bombed and destroyed, leaving only rubble. They lost all their furniture, mattresses, blankets, and their little girls' toys, and lost any sense of security. Making matters worse is the blockade and aggression on Gaza, which has led to a decrease in supplies and an increase in the prices of what remains in the area, making survival even more difficult.
Mahmoud continues to struggle to provide for his family, searching for even the simplest things, like a drawing board for his little girls, so they can feel a little safe. However, more is needed. Mahmoud's family is facing a sweltering summer in a tent without clean water, food, electricity, healthcare, or sanitation facilities, surrounded by constant shelling. They need all the support they can get.
Please help Mahmoud and his family survive this nightmare and rebuild their home and lives. Everything has been taken from this innocent family, and any donation you can make will be helpful and appreciated.
