On December 24th, Eli suffered a heart attack and has remained in the ICU since then. This has been an incredibly difficult and unexpected situation for him and his family, especially during what is usually a time of togetherness.
While Eli does have medical insurance, there are still many expenses that arise outside of what insurance covers. Between ongoing medical-related needs and the practical costs that come with an extended hospital stay, the financial impact adds up quickly.
Eli’s wife has been staying in a hotel near the hospital so she can remain close to him during his recovery. Lodging, meals, transportation, and time away from normal routines have created additional, unplanned expenses during an already stressful time.
Eli and his wife have two sons. Their son Ryan lives nearby and has been able to go back and forth to the hospital to spend time with his dad in the ICU. Their other son, Evan, is currently away at school at Christopher Newport University, a few hours from home, and is working to make plans to visit as his schedule allows. Being separated during such a critical time has been difficult for the entire family.
This fundraiser is meant to help ease some of the practical burdens so the family can focus on what matters most — being together and supporting Eli through his recovery.
Any contribution, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated and will go toward covering expenses that arise outside of insurance coverage. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page or keeping Eli and his family in your thoughts means just as much.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
