Mark "Scoop" Foyer Get Well Fund

Mark "Scoop" Foyer our beloved sports writer and long time member of the Half Moon Bay community has fallen ill.  Earlier this month Mark was admitted to ICU  with what doctors believe is Guillain-Barre syndrome.    Guillain-Barré syndrome can affect anybody.  The syndrome is rare, however, afflicting only about 1 person in 100,000.  Guillain-Barré occurs a few days or weeks after the patient has had symptoms of a respiratory or gastrointestinal viral infection. There's no known cure for Guillain-Barre syndrome, but several treatments can ease symptoms and reduce the duration of the illness. Most people recover from Guillain-Barre syndrome, though some may experience lingering effects from it, such as weakness, numbness or fatigue.
Mark "Scoop" Foyer has been an integral part of grandkids, kids and adults lives on the Coastside Community.  He has worked for the Half Moon Bay Review newspaper for 15 years covering sporting events of all kinds.  Mark takes the time to make everyone or team he interviews, photographs, or writes about feel special.  Please let's return the love and show Mark we support him during his brave battle with this autoimmune disease.  Funds raised through this campaign will go directly to Mark (when he wakes up) to help pay for medical bills, recovery, therapy and assistance.  We miss you Mark, stay strong, and look forward to having you back on the sidelines with your camera, pencil, and notebook in hand!
