Nepali Disaster Relief Mission
In the past few days, Nepal has suffered through a 7.9 earthquake as well as several detrimental aftershocks. The death toll has reached 4,000 so far, and this number is expected to raise to as much as 10,000 without the necessary aid.
My name is Madison, and I'm a 20 year old pre-med student from Los Angeles who loves nothing more than to travel to third world countries and dedicate my time to the people who need it most. A year and a half ago, my mother and I travelled to Nepal to work in medical clinics as well as teach English in village schools. We were welcomed by the kindest and most genuine human beings I have met throughout the missions I've been a part of. To this day, I have friends there who took me into their homes, fed me, introduced me to their families, and made sure my visit far exceeded expectations. These people are like family to me. I want to reciprocate the generosity they showed me a year and a half ago.
I am trying to raise $3,400 to go to Nepal from May 22nd-31st through www.internationalmedicalrelief.org. This amount covers airfare, food, shelter, transportation around the country, and clinic supplies/medications for my patients. I will be working with medical teams to provide care as well as health education to communities that lack these kinds of resources. If you can help, I will be forever grateful. Thank you so much.
The man in the red shirt, Bishnu, took us into his home and treated us like family.
