Help Save Maya

A week ago our sweet, lovable Maya was attacked by an unlnown animal. The result was a torn esaphagus and extensive damage to her throat. When she tried to eat the food came out her neck and developed a large pocket under her skin. We took her to our regular veterinarian who was willing to attempt repairing the damage but gave us very poor odds of success. He asked us to sign a euthanization form in the case that he were to be unsuccessful. Maya is only about 3 1/2 years old and is part of our family and we were not ok with the thought of losing our baby. Our veterinarian suggested a specialist, someone who was more experienced in dealing with critically injured animals. He warned the cost would be pretty high.  How do you put a price on a member of the family?  So we rushed her to the specialist who agreed to take on the task and do surgery. We called some family member who were able to help out a little so we were able to move ahead with surgery.  We were relieved to hear that she made it through and was in recovery. She was unable to eat or drink orally so the had to run a tube down through her nose to her stomach to feed her.  After 48 hours the tried to give her fluids orally and found that there was still some leakage in her throat. The Veterinarian said our options at that point were to call it quits or go back in and see if it could still be fixed. We figured that we had come this far so we couldn't give up now. However now we have to come up with the money for two surgeries instead of one and whatever her recover process costs. We have exhausted all options and are still coming up short.  Maya is a young, fun loving pup who puts a smile on everyones face. She derserves to live a long healthy life. I don't like to ask for help but don't know what else to do.  So please help us save Maya. Thank you for taking your time to hear our story.
