Ryan's Fight
Donation protected
In August, 2014 Ryan Conley of West Mifflin PA was anxious to begin his junior year at West Mifflin High School. Ryan loves a challenge and was looking forward to excelling in his advanced and honors classes. By the end of September, 2014, Ryan developed a sharp pain in his shoulder and was having difficulty breathing.
After a visit to the doctors, Ryan and his family were given the shock of their lives. Ryan was diagnosed with mediastinal germ cell cancer. Scans showed he had a mass in his chest the size of a football that had attached itself to the lining of his heart and lung. Ryan was faced with a battle that he was determined to win.
Ryan underwent many rounds of chemotherapy and underwent an extensive surgery to remove the mass. A CT scan in May of 2015 showed all signs of cancer were gone and he was in remission. He had won this battle.
Then, In July, 2015 Ryan began experiencing pain in his hip. During his monthly check up, his doctors discovered his tumor marker was up from 23 the previous month to 186. Everyone was devastated. After a CT scan was performed, it showed that the mass in Ryan's chest has returned and the cancer has spread to his lung, liver and hip. Ryan is now faced with another battle that again he is ready to fight and win. This young man is truly amazing with his strength and bravery. He is a true hero.
I am setting up this fund to help the family with any medical expenses and financial hardships that they will endure during this time. They should not have to settle for an alternate prescription because insurance won't cover what the doctor prescribes. This family has not only faced batteling cancer with Ryan, but also with their other son Adam who has battled and won his own fight with cancer in 2011.
Please help me help me help their family kick cancers a$$!!!
