Facing Foreclosure and Eviction
I have hit the proverbial rock bottom. I am opening this GoFundMe page to raise $2,500 to assist in maintaining a roof over my head.
I just received notification that I have 10 days to file bankruptcy to keep my home from going into foreclosure, then being evicted.
I’ve lost everything - my dog, who was my only companion, my job, my savings, unemployment benefits, my car, my health - and am now on the verge of losing my home! I’m desperately trying to keep my home so as to avoid going into a shelter. Yes, poverty can strike anyone at any time – even the hardest working among us - and I’m living proof!
Due to a chronic physical diagnosis and mental fatigue, I have been unable to seek employment for almost three years. I’m currently working with nearly a dozen medical professionals within the state assistance program. The program, thankfully, provides food stamps and health insurance, which is how I’ve been living for a year now.
If you know me, you know that it pains me to accept that I’ve allowed myself to fall this deeply into debt and despair.
The bottom line is that nothing is free: the fee for legal services/filing for bankruptcy is $2,500.
I am deeply in need and am truly grateful for anything you can spare. I’ve never been so afraid of being homeless before…the fear and anxiety of losing a place to live is debilitating. I’m trying my hardest to get back on my feet, but time has not been in my favor.
Your consideration is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to contact me anytime for further clarification.
Your friend,
Larry
