My name is Abeer Alhalis, a Palestinian-Canadian from Ontario. I am reaching out with an urgent plea for my youngest uncle, his family and my grandmother who are suffering the war in Gaza.

This is a message from my uncle Mohammed with his story;

Before October 07, 2023, I was living a simple life with my wife, my daughter who is now 11 months old, and my elderly mother.

I was working as an interior designer where I had the chance to positively impact people's lives by making their dreams come true.

My wife was a teacher who also had a great influence on her students over many years.

We had a small restaurant which was opened a few months before the war and we worked hard to provide a decent life for my family.

Leaving our lovely house, fully aware that we might never see it again, is an indescribably heart-wrenching experience that became our reality.

The continues bombings in Gaza have shattered our lives, leaving my family and me homeless and without any possessions. Our beloved home, a symbol of our efforts and love, was heavily damaged and partially destroyed in this war. We found ourselves with nothing but few summer outfits for my daughter and our important documents.

Our lives turned into a world of fear, anxiety, and displacement from one area to another to escape death and try to search for a safe place that would shelter and protect us from this deadly aggression that destroyed our home and business.

Danger and the scarcity of food, clean water, and medicine is leading us towards a grim reality of starvation.

Every day is a struggle to provide for my little daughter's basic needs. Despite my best efforts, finding essentials like milk and diapers is incredibly challenging. It's heartbreaking to return to her empty-handed, knowing I could not fulfill her most basic needs.

For this reason, I am reaching out to our community in a heartfelt plea for assistance.
