Many of you have asked for me to start a fundraiser for Jim Cooper. So you know the reason why I did. However, some may not know why so I'm sharing the words from Rena Cooper.....

"I’ll try to explain. Jim received devastating news yesterday. He has Diabetic retinopathy. His eye doctor explained that he has hemorrhaging in both eyes. His vision is deteriorating daily.

Jim must visit a vision specialist within 2 weeks. If he lets his vision go without immediate treatment, he will go blind within 6 months to a year. Completely blind. The doctor said if the hemorrhaging hits the exact right spots in his eyes, Jim could go blind immediately. His eye doctor mentioned laser surgery treatment. I don’t know how to pay for that when we’re medically uninsured. Jim is destroyed by this news and there is nothing I can say or do to make it better. He’s terrified by the thought of surgery on his eyes. He is angry and he is depressed. Jim feels useless and doesn’t know how he can help the groups any longer. How does one put a positive spin on this news or take away the fear of such a horrible outcome? I don’t know. I’m not asking for prayers or anything else really. I just wanted everyone to know. Please don’t blow Jim up with private messages. We love you all and thank you"
