It takes a lot for me to swallow my pride and do this….but I am getting desperate.
As many of you know, Munchkin and I lost our apartment last year. They raised the rent and I just couldn’t afford it.
We are still waiting on a new apartment, as occupancy rates here in Tampa Bay are 95%. Hopefully, we will move in sometime in mid-March. In the meantime, we’ve been living at the Extended Stay America since mid-December, with all of our items in storage and the struggle to keep us afloat has proved to be more difficult than I thought.
The hotel raised its rates in January and it’s just been enough to keep that roof over our head, food in the kitchenette and the car expenses going. I’ve pushed off and made arrangements for many other bills but they’re coming due and I don’t know what else to do or who else to ask.
The most pressing need is for our storage unit. I've pushed off payments on that til I can't anymore and that is scheduled for auction on 2/26 if I do not make the $400 payment. I'd like to get back into that storage space this week though, so I can finally sell some stuff to take care of the other bills, like our cell phone, which is now up to $850.
I know it's just stuff, but there's a lot of stuff that has meaning in there. A lot of family history, for both sides of Munchkin's family is stored in there -- photos, momentos. Our family history. I don't want to lose that to a Storage Wars bidder.
Our cell phones just mean it will be very hard for anyone to get a hold of us. I hope I can get the carrier to work with me on that but they've probably been as generous as they can.
So ultimately, I guess I am asking for $500 (as I need to cover fees) to get $400 for our storage. And I need that ASAP so I can get into the storage to sell some stuff to get $850 for our cell phone which is due Friday. Or to cover both amounts and any fees associated.
I realize this is very last minute but this was my last resort and I didn't want to do it. But in the face of mounting financial pressures. I'm not sure I have a choice.
Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
