In honor of Tahir’s upcoming 5th year of his life celebration, we are mounting another campaign to raise funds for The Tahir Koylass Outstanding Scholar Award (TKOSA).

TKOSA is an annual scholarship award that recognizes graduating Collegiate Scholars from the University of Chicago's Collegiate Scholars Program . Founded 2003, the Collegiate Scholars Program is a three-year program that aims to prepare talented Chicago Public Schools students in grades 10-12 for admission and success at the nation’s top colleges and universities.
Since 2016, we have raised over $31,000 and have supported seven first year college students in their college journey. This year we are implementing a new aspect of our giving, and are hoping with your support, we can provide the initial support, but also earmark funds for awardees in good standing to continue to receive funds throughout their college career.
Your donation will help us continue Tahir's legacy and provide much needed support to students aspiring to change their lives through education.
Tahir participated in the Collegiate Scholars Program from 2012-2015. During 18 months of this time, he fought a courageous battle against a rare brain tumor. He ultimately lost his battle on April 24, 2015.
Recipients of the Tahir Koylass Outstanding Scholar Award will embody outstanding resiliency, civic engagement and academic curiosity that Tahir exhibited during his tenure in the Collegiate Scholars Program.
