Hiya Karate 2015 Nationals Team
Donation protected
Recently athletes from HiYa karate in Mount Airy, MD qualified to compete in the 2015 AAU Taekwondo National Championships that is being held in Ft.
Lauderdale, FL, from June 29th-July 4th. There is expected to be over 2,000 competitors from around the
country at this major event, and the HiYa Karate Competition Team will consist of twenty-six competitors ranging from ages eight to adult!
The AAU is a nonprofit organization and is a well know organization that lends opportunity to a select group
of young athletes. Our local students will compete with the best martial arts athletes from across the United
States. Competing in the Nationals will serve to solidify their self confidence, fill them with a sense of accomplishment and serve as an amazing memory as they transition into adulthood.
However, due to the financial restraints for some of our families, it has become extremely difficult if not impossible to afford the cost of this event. In pursuing this dream, money will be needed for airfare, hotel accommodations for three nights, food, competitors fees, uniforms, equipment and training costs. We are therefore reaching out to our friends, families, and local business community for potential sponsorships.
For one child’s journey to Ft. Lauderdale, FL, for this everlasting experience, it will cost $1,500.
