Our Little Heart Warrior (UPDATED PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO READ OUR FULL STORY)

When Harlie was around 8 weeks old they found a heart murmur which then led to us we finding out that she has something called ‘VSD’ ventricular septal defect. With it being such a huge thing to us we also didn’t realise how common it was in newborn babies, we also didn’t know it is something some people live with and may not even know unless it was looked for. When we first found out we was told she had 3/4 holes in her heart chambers making it very hard for Harlie to gain weight , excessive sweating & feeding difficulties , she is still very much our diddy little girl. After going back for numerous months for echocardiograms to get news they felt they were closing on their own which was such a big relief. However on going back to another echo we was then told she has a larger hole that won’t be able to close alone , this means our little Harlie is in need of Open Heart Surgery this sounded super scary at the time and coming to terms with such a huge thing is super hard! Few weeks down the line we had an amazing phonecall with a lovely surgeon that has offered us a procedure less invasive and a strong possibility this could close the hole without OHS. However I’ve been thinking I would LOVE to help the hospital and donate to the charity that deal with this amazing procedure for such tiny babies/toddlers/children & adults.

All I ask is if you could donate just £1 to our charity page/link for all donations to go towards the amazing ‘Evelina Hospital’ these amazing people have put our mind at ease and spoken through everything , they have completed all Harlies echocardiograms and are always at the end of the phone for any questions & of course those amazing surgeons that deal with this procedure daily!!

We go down to London next week for a pre-op & surgery / procedure the following week! For anyone that has been through this, we are with you & this amazing surgery that gives babies/adults a better life

We had some really good news when we was going for a ‘pre op’ for Harlies surgery, they did a final echocardiogram to check things over to make sure they was happy with absolutely everything and after tests and scans & speaking to the surgeon/professor that would/will be doing the closure we was told he doesn’t want to touch her or close the hole right now because she’s is happy healthy growing baby and it has slowly been getting smaller on its own, it won’t close on its own for good due to her left side of her heart being very much dilated still, come winter time this all may change due to any concerns we see or any change we may notice within her respiratory system, so we aren’t fully out the surgery route , however we are so so grateful and blessed to be able to deal with such amazing nurses/ paediatricians / surgeons from Evelina hospital and as we continue our amazing journey with our little heart warrior and the most wonderful team, I will be continuing the couch to 5k and 10,000 steps a day for this amazing charity and hospital because they deserve these donations they deserve the best for all they do! All money is sent straight to the charity and believe me they are so so grateful for everyone that has already donated you can change many many babies lives that are going through surgery for many different reasons and being treating by the most wonderful team of nurses&doctors at Evelina , the safest and most caring hands.
