Help Rit, my Nepalese friend.
Donation protected

Hi everyone,
Many of you might remember that back in late 2013, I left to go trekking through Nepal. During that time I hired a guide by the name of Rit. This man went above and beyond for what any guide would be expected to do in his position. When I got food poisoning, he looked after me. When I was falling on the ice as we climbed mountains, he held onto me and when I was finally ready to head back home, he let me stay with his wonderful family at his home for a week and expereince a true Nepalese homestay. Needless to say, we grew close over the course of our two months together.
Sadly, the recent Nepal earthquakes have totally demolished his home (the very one I stayed in). Luckily neither he, his wife, children or grandchildren were injured by the quake and they are living in a makeshift shelter right outside where their home used to be.
There are many ways to donate to helping people affected by the Nepal earthquake, but if you wanted to help this one man and his family rebuild their lives after losing everything, I can think of no other person who deserves it more.
The goal is modest but if everyone chips in a little bit, you can make a lifechanging impact on this remarkable family that looked after me and welcomed me to their home. All money raised will go straight to ensuring they will have food, shelter and water throughout this difficult time and maybe (with enough donations) help rebuild his home.
