HIT & RUN, need help recovering

This is a story about a man named Henry Perreault. Henry is my best friend, and I feel compelled to ask you kind folks to help him out since he is too kind a person to ask himself.
We live in Eugene Oregon, a semi-small city that has a reputation for being bicycle friendly. One night (tonight in fact, the night I started writing this) Henry and I had planned on meeting up and riding our bicycles to the local pub to play bingo. after being about an hour late and still no word from Henry, I decided to just head on down there, and told him to meet me there when he was ready. To my utter dismay (and the sadness of all who know him) Henry would not be making it out to Bingo night.
On his marry bike ride to my house to meet up with me, Henry was struck by a hit by a vehicle, no more than 4 blocks from my house. The driver didn't stop, just left my best friend there to bleed out. Luckily a kind citizen found him an promptly called 911.
He was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance and is currently in the ER. They are currently waiting for his condition to stabilize before begining surgery.
Henry is suffering mutiple fracters to his face/ jaw, has lost some teeth (we recovered one from the scene as of right now) and has bitten his tongue so badly he cannot talk.
Henry is a light hearted guy who puts others before himself, even when they don't deserve it. He is not the type of guy to ask for help, which is why I am setting this campaign up for him. I do not know if his medical bills will be covered, but regardless, he still has rent adn bills to pay. Things that will not be covered while he is in the hospital, and probly not for a few months after he is released.
If you have any change to spare, it would be greatly appreciated. The person who hit my friend and drove away didn't just take away my hardworking friend's ability to care for himself, they took away his sense of self reliance. Something every American strive's for.
