Welkom op onze Go Fund Me! Wij (familie) van Elianne (18 jaar) proberen geld in te zamelen om haar leven terug te krijgen. Een chirurg biedt haar aan om een operatie uit te voeren die haar leven kan veranderen. Hiervoor heeft ze jullie hulp hard nodig! Ze is erg ziek en kampt met veel lichamelijke problemen. Voordat ze ziek werd sprak ze veel met vriendinnen af en ging ze volledig naar school. Nu lukt haar dat allemaal niet meer. Echter is haar droom is om kinderverpleegkundige te worden.

Elianne’s verhaal

In 2023 krijgt Elianne erg veel pijn in haar buik en wordt het eten en drinken steeds moeizamer. Daarom werd Elianne vaak opgenomen ter observatie in het ziekenhuis en kreeg ze onderzoeken. Maanden later kreeg ze de diagnose gastroparese. Dit houdt in dat haar maag verlamd is en dus niet goed werkt. Ze houdt niks binnen waardoor het haar niet meer lukt om te eten en drinken. Daarom wordt ze door een sonde via de buikwand in haar darm gevoed. Door het voeden via de darm ervaart zij extreem veel pijn. Ze is nu constant erg vermoeid wat haar hele leven beïnvloedt. Zij heeft de laatste 2 jaren een groot deel in het ziekenhuis doorgebracht en heeft zelfs een paar dagen op de Intensive Care gelegen. In Nederland zijn ze zoekende geweest waarom zij zoveel pijn ervaart en waarom haar maag slecht functioneert, maar ze hebben geen oorzaak kunnen vinden. Hier lopen ze vast en kunnen ze niks voor haar betekenen.

Begin 2025 zijn we met Elianne naar Spanje gevlogen om een second opinion aan te vragen bij de vaatchirurg. Hij heeft Elianne grondig onderzocht. Er kwamen 2 diagnoses uit. Naast haar slecht werkende maag heeft ze MALS en het SMA syndroom. Dit houdt in dat haar maag en darmen te weinig bloed krijgen en er een obstructie zit in de eerste deel van de dunne darm. Hierdoor lukt het eten en drinken niet maar is sondevoeding ook heel pijnlijk. “Als hier niets mee gebeurt gaat Elianne niet beter worden.” zegt de chirurg. Hij biedt haar een operatie aan die haar leven kan veranderen.

Waarom een crowdfunding?

Na met de chirurg gesproken te hebben is er eindelijk hoop. Hoop op weer meer kunnen doen en haar droom om kinderverpleegkundige te worden waar te maken. Ze kan geopereerd worden in Spanje, Málaga. Deze grote buikoperatie wordt helaas niet uitgevoerd in Nederland en daarom ook niet vergoed door de verzekering. Dit betekent dat er een enorm bedrag nodig is om de operatie uit te voeren. Hiervoor hebben wij jullie hulp nodig. Al het geld dat ingezameld wordt gaat naar de grote operatie, het verblijf, vliegtickets en extra medische kosten. Elk bijdrage helpt ons enorm!

Welcome to our GoFundMe page! We, the family of Elianne (18 years old), are trying to raise money to help her to get her life back. A surgeon has offered to perform a life-changing surgery, but she needs your help to make it possible. Elianne is seriously ill and suffers from numerous physical challenges. Before she became sick, she loved spending time with friends and attended school full-time. Now, she is no longer able to do those things. However, her dream is still to become a pediatric nurse.

Elianne’s Story

In 2023, Elianne started experiencing severe abdominal pain, and eating and drinking became extremely difficult. As a result, she was frequently hospitalized for observation and underwent various tests. Months later, she was diagnosed with gastroparesis, which means her stomach is paralyzed and does not function properly. She cannot keep food or drinks down, making it impossible for her to eat or drink normally. Therefore, she is fed through a feeding tube inserted into her intestine via her abdominal wall. However, this method causes her extreme pain. Elianne is constantly fatigued, which affects every aspect of her life. Over the past two years, she has spent a significant amount of time in the hospital, including a few days in the Intensive Care Unit. In the Netherlands, doctors have been unable to determine the cause of her severe pain and poorly functioning stomach and they don’t have a solution for it.

At the beginning of 2025, we flew with Elianne to Spain for a second opinion from a vascular surgeon. He conducted a examination, which resulted in two additional diagnoses. Along with her gastroparesis, Elianne has MALS and SMA syndrome. These conditions restrict blood flow to her stomach and intestines, there is also an obstruction in the first part of her small intestine. This not only makes eating and drinking impossible but also causes severe pain with tube feeding. According to the surgeon, “If nothing is done, Elianne will not get better.” He has offered her a surgery that could change her life.

Why a Crowdfunding?

After speaking with the surgeon, there is finally hope. Hope that Elianne will be able to do more and pursue her dream of becoming a pediatric nurse. The surgery can be performed in Málaga, Spain. However, this major abdominal surgery is not performed in the Netherlands and is therefore not covered by insurance. This means we need a significant amount of money to make the operation possible. The funds we raise will go towards the surgery, accommodation, flights, and additional medical costs.
