Friday July 18th, Chris was in a terrible dirt bike accident & was taken to the ER by ambulance. Little did we know that would turn into so much more than we expected. After an MRI showed the doctors that there was serious bleeding on the brain, they rushed him into immediate brain surgery that lasted from 10pm-3am. The next 30+ days would be spent in ICU, 2 days on the ventilator, constant meds/sedation & confusion. During this time, he struggled with a consistent fever, high BP, & fluctuating heart rate. The doctors ran many tests to eliminate anything in the body causing those fevers (all of which come back clear). The doctor then came to conclusion that he would have to re-enter the original incision area to check for infection & drain excess fluid build up causing swelling. Day 10 in ICU turned into Chris’s second 5 hour brain surgery in a little over a weeks time. The surgery was deemed successful & allowed Chris to have a good turnaround the next 2 days (sitting up, feeding himself, walking with PT). I have had many people ask what they can do to help, so many have helped so much already & we are so thankful. It has been a month since his first surgery & I have been with him night & day as his caregiver along side an amazing nurse staff. We are uncertain how long Chris may be in the hospital & out of work due to the type of work he does (remodeling) it may be quite some time before he is able to get back to his norm, which puts a strain on our finances & bills. I am praying so hard that Chris has a quick recovery but I also want to be sure he has a thorough, full recovery & that we are certain that he can safely return home & work regardless of the timeframe it may take. Any donations will be humbly appreciated, but even if you are unable to give just know your prayers mean so much & are definitely being felt as well. Thank you in advance, God bless you all ❤️
