One Last Hurrah

No one has died, and I don't have a particularly heartbreaking story. All this is about is giving my wife of 50 years her wish for our Anniversary. When we were younger, and as part of my job, we would travel from our home in California to New York each June for a giant motorcycle convention called Americade. These were some of the happiest times of our lives, and though we had to give it up several years ago after losing my job, my beloved wife has expressed a desire to make one last journey. Knowing this, I scrimped and saved the past few years in hopes of granting her wish, and was going to surprise her in the Spring with a "Last Hurrah" road trip. But life intervened with a series of heavy financial setbacks involving medical bills and the engine blowing up in our car among other, smaller setbacks.
For 50 years she has been my rock of unwavering support, and I love her more than words can say. She has never asked anything of me before, and I would hate to have to disappoint her the one time she came to me with a wish.
I would never ask this for myself, but I will swallow my pride and ask if there might be a few people out there who would help me make her wish come true.
