On January 20th, Chris Gernes had a stroke. Physically she was fine, mentally she had trouble remembering things, names, dates etc.  She also had a hard time saying what she was thinking.  It was really frustrating for her and Thor. Through speech and occupational therapy, after three months, she was able to drive and return to work.  On July 6th Chris suffered another stroke.  She has paralysis in her left arm and hand and also the left side of her mouth.  After extensive tests while hospitalized they diagnosed her with stage three ovarian cancer. Back to more speech and occupational therapy due to the stroke.  She had her first chemo infusion on August 4th.  On August 24th, the day before her second chemo infusion, she suffered more strokes. This time her right arm and hand were affected. As of right now she basically can't so anything for herself. She now has speech, occupational and physical therapy. With the help of family and friends they have been strong and moving forward. She had her second chemo infusion September 8th.
