Disability Van for Pablo
Donation protected
My dad, Pablo Dominguez, is one of the most selfless men I have ever known. Since before I was even born, I’ve witnessed my dad struggle with tasks that a man his age shouldn’t have to. For a better part of his life, he has had to sacrifice his youth, his mobility, and even his happiness in order to accommodate for his disability. As he got older, most of the things that were easy for him, like walking, seeing, remembering, writing, and even transportation became more difficult. In 2000, as his health declined, he lost his job due to his MS. 6 years later, he and my mother divorced and she moved out. Ever since then my dad had to survive on social security to support my sister and I. In 2013, he had no choice but to move us in with our grandparents. He lost his home, his freedom, and most of his pride. My dad is not one to ask for help, even if he needs it. So I will. My dad relies solely on his electric wheel chair, and has been for the past 4 years. He is no longer able to drive, nor does he have a vehicle to do so. Me, my sister, and my grandfather transport my dad to and from with my grandfathers mini van. We use a heavy metal ramp to roll the wheel chair into an out of the van, while someone helps my dad into the passenger seat. His MS is getting worse and if something were to happen while getting him into the van… that would be it, no more leaving the house again. My dad deserves a wheelchair accessible van, something to keep him mobile and give him the freedom he so desperately deserves. The only problem is that, the used van we looked at was 40,000. Not to mention the modifications we would have to make to it from him to be able to possibly drive it on his own. All I ask is that you read his story and find it in your heart to donate for the cause. He is well deserving of happiness and any donation is appreciated. Please share and help me help him. He deserves this.
