Emergency trip due to cancer

My name is Christina, and I am trying to raise money for my mother. She was born in Dunoon, Scotland as the eldest child in her family. She soon welcomed her younger brother to the family, and quickly developed a bond with him. She made sure that he was well taken care of when they were young. I have heard many stories of when my mom was young. In all of those stories, if you saw my mom... my uncle Roddy was always with her. In 1981, my mother moved to the United States. Soon after, she started a family of her own. She stayed in contact with my uncle, until finally getting to go see him. Unfortunately, she has only been back "home" once since she moved to the United States. I was very young, but I remember writing a letter to her while she was gone. This was 21 years ago. Imagine 21 long years without seeing someone that you were incredibly close to. My mom has been trying to take a trip to Scotland for the past couple of years. Unfortunately, the trip has become much more urgent. In the summer of 2014, my uncle found out that he has cancer. He has had to undergo surgery to put a stint in place to bypass the tumor so that he can eat without excruciating pain. He is barely able to talk, and the outlook isn't looking good at all. The only thing my mother talks about is going to see him as soon as possible. To get to see him and hug him for the first time in 21 years, and possibly the last. If you are (or know) a person from Scotland, you know that they are incredibly proud and independent. However, as proud as a Scot can be, there comes that time. The time to ask for help. The time to turn to family, friends, and community and ask for them to help you make your dream a reality. That time has come for us. Without help, my mother may not get the chance to hug her brother again...to be able to look him in the eye and tell him that she loves him. We want to do everything in our power to make this happen for her.  Please help us get our mom home to see her brother again.
