On Tuesday, January 28th, Zander Torres got into a head on collision with a car while riding his motorcycle home from work. While he thankfully survived, he unfortunately broke seven ribs, dislocated his hip and ultimately received surgery on his shattered ankle.
Zander is not the kind of man to ask anyone for anything. He can be stoic, strong, fiercely loyal and sentimental, but never would you describe him as someone who is needy. When you speak to him on a hospital bed, post invasive operation, he will somehow find a way to remind you that life is beautiful and worth living. He may instead try to inspire you. He may tell you how thankful he is for you. He may even tell you that God has a plan, and that, if anything, he welcomes a difficult journey if only for the wisdom, courage, and emotional depth it may provide him, so he may in turn share that wealth that only derives from a wonderful, beautifully complex, and at times challenging, life worth living with those who come into contact with him.
The road to full health will no doubt be a long one. A one day at a time journey that will require tenacity and patience. Zander will not be able to work during these weeks and months, and as we all know, medical procedures and hospital visits and time dedicated to healing oneself can come at a steep financial burden.
Zander would never ask for your donations, but we, his friends and family, thankfully can. If you may find it in your heart to lend a spare dollar, it would be appreciated more deeply than you know.
For a young, hopeful, resilient and kind man who is a faithful and caring friend, brother and son. We humbly ask for any help you can provide.
Thank you so much.
