JoAnn McHugh's Cancer Fund

Donation protected
The end of this past August, on her way home from work, JoAnn had exteame pain to the point she went to the emregency room at our local hospital.  She had just returned from vacation with her grandchildren, and had a wonderful time, only to find out she had stage four overarian cancer. She had tumors on her liver and spleen as well. JoAnn was immediately taken to another hospital, that was better suited for cancer patients, and her prognosis was verified there.

While she was in the hospital for treatment, tests and other evaluations, a power port was placed in her chest to receive chemotherapy and medications. Right after the port was placed she developed a numbing in her right hand and arm, both legs and she had double vision. She also has trouble walking. She has been receiving chemo for 5 to 6 months, and has been seeing a neurologist for her walking, vision and numbness problems.

Friends had a very nice fundraiser for her in October, however this is a chronic on going problem and will take time. She is struggeling with her ability to cover
co-pays for meds, treatments, and physical therapy (since  covered physical therapy has been used up), plus a host of unexpected expenses. There is no set schedule for an operation at this time, so there is no telling how much longer this will go on until there is hopefully a remedy for her neuropathy and for her cancer.

We both work, but since JoAnn cannot do much at this time, therefore we are living on my income alone, but are hanging on for now.  JoAnn taught toddelers at Children of America, a work she loves to do. I have a job at a residence that cares for folks with behavioral needs, I too enjoy my job. JoAnn turned 69 years old in November, I'll be 72 in June and we thank God for every day for our family and for each other. We receive social security which helps, but it is not a lot so we have turned to this concept. We know there are many other people with similar problems and we pray for them every day. Tough times are here for sure, so if you are not able to make a donation I understand. If that is the case would you please say some prayers for JoAnn so she can vacation with her beloved grandchildren once more?  God bless you and thank you for reading all of this, sorry I went kinda long.

Peace,
