In early August, our dad - Troy Randolph, was diagnosed with cancer after colonoscopy revealed a large tumor (adenocarcinoma) in his colon. This week, he is having his chemo port surgically implanted, in addition to a few other small procedures to prepare him for treatment. Next week, he will begin a rigorous 2 month plan of chemotherapy and radiation. The hope is that this will eradicate any lingering cancer cells and shrink the tumor to a more manageable size before it is surgically removed.
Everything costs money, of course... but cancer treatment is expensive. Not only will he have to pay the medical costs his insurance will not cover, but he will also have to spend several weeks off of work while he fights this and heals. We are raising this money to go toward his $2,000 insurance deductible, as well as to help him pay living expenses that will only be partially covered by a limited amount of FMLA funds while he is off work.
Cancer is scary, but we are putting our faith in his oncology team to help him fight this and come out of it healthier than ever. His surgery is tentatively scheduled for December, so other local fundraising efforts will be announced soon. Please stay tuned, and even if you cannot donate, please share this! Anything you can do will help.
Thank you - from the entire Randolph family - for supporting this cause and helping save our dad.
