Hello,
My name is Hitesh. I was born in Zimbabwe (at the time Rhodesia) and grew up in Botswana and South Africa. I have lived in the United States of America for quite a while now and am a naturalized citizen.
I have suffered from a debilitating illness for the last two decades and most of the money I have earned during that time has gone to pay for medical costs (I call it staying alive costs). I lost my job a couple of years ago and spent all my savings on health insurance premiums and finally ran out of money. I qualified for Obama care and wow, what a blessing! I now work half time for a non-profit in San Francisco earning enough to almost pay the bills and not much else.
Since most of my health care costs are paid by Obama care I finally have the opportunity to study and acquire the skills necessary to secure a job that pays enough so that I can earn enough to live a life above the poverty line!
I decided to follow my long time dream to work as a programmer. I have used coding to solve numerous computing problems I have come across in my previous employ and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I found Hack Reactor - a school that has a 99% alumni hire rate and a high starting pay rate. It offers an intensive 12 week course. For me this would be a dream come true. I would be able to earn enough money so that I no longer have to depend on Obama care for my health care needs and still have enough left over to live a comfortable life.
I am trying to raise enough money to pay for the tuition fees, living expenses, and tools required to successfully complete the course. The total amount is approximately $30,000. The breakdown of expenses would be:
Tuition $17,780
Rent (4 months) $2,900
Computer (fancy one) $3,231
Living Expense $5,000
Living expenses includes food, transportation costs, utilities, and insurance.
I have completed the the preparatory course work and have requested an entry interview (still waiting to hear back from admissions as of Dec 6, 2015).
I am hoping to enroll in the Jan 11 or Feb 29 course and I would have to raise these funds by that time.
Your contribution would help me finally become financially independent and allow me to fulfill my dream of becoming a programmer.
There is no way I could put into words my gratitude to those that help me accomplish my goal of financial independence. I can only say that I will definitely send positive energy and gratitude your way through visualizations and prayer.
I also pledge that I will give back an equal amount of money raised through this forum to others in need when I have reached financial stability (over a 10 year period).
