
Steinepreis Paganin 2020 Rottnest Channel Swim
Through the Steinepreis Paganin Charitable Foundation, Steinepreis Paganin are participating in the 2020 Rottnest Channel Swim in an effort to help raise money and support for the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre. Since opening its doors in 2015, the Family Centre has built a thriving community in Western Australia, supporting people to face the challenges of type 1 diabetes with confidence. The Centre offers unique education programs, supportive connections, inspirational role models, friendly clinical care and action-packed camps and events to help people impacted by type 1 diabetes to live without limits.
The Team
Hamish “Ham” Robertson
Hamish commenced as a graduate at Steinepreis Paganin in October 2018 and is a keen advocate of the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre. Hamish’s brother was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 3 years old and has made full use of the Family Centre’s events and education programs . Hamish’s Mum is also a Director of the Family Centre.
Hamish has completed the swim twice previously and most recently completed the swim as a duo, raising close to $10,000 for the Family Centre! Hamish will lead the team off the beach as they commence the gruelling swim and is hopeful that the Swimrays will raise $15,000 so as to support the great work being done by the Family Centre.
Rachel “Rage” Barclay
Rachel, a keen hockey player, spent the majority of 2018 playing throughout Europe, and has recently made the transition to swimming. Rachel started with Steinepreis Paganin in April of 2019 and with significant sporting prowess, she knows what is required to help get the team over the finish line for the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre.
Alex “Trig” Triglavcanin
A skilled footballer (soccer), Alex is coming off the back of 10 months of rehabilitation, having torn his ACL in February of this year, after his second day at Steinepreis Paganin. With swimming being a key role in his rehabilitation, Alex is ready to put his body back on the line to raise funds for the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre.
James “Ferg” Ferguson
Having been a cricketer all his life, James is accustomed to long hours under the sun, however is new to the Rotto Swim. Commencing at Steinepreis Paganin in February 2017, James has always enjoyed the team culture and is keen to do his bit for the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre.
