Hi Friends and Family. Danny has been earned an awesome opportunity to attend a National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF) for National Security – Diplomacy, Intelligence & Defense in Washington DC. He was invited based off career interest and outstanding academic performance . Its a 6 day course where he'll have the chance to do the following:
Assuming the role of one of our nation’s top decision makers in a true-to-life national security crisis simulation.
Networking at an exclusive career fair - where representatives from government agencies, military academies, and private companies will discuss future career opportunities.
Visiting government agencies, military installations, or foreign embassies to see diplomacy, intelligence, and defense operations in action.
Hearing from veterans of the Wounded Warrior Project as well as honoring our nation’s fallen at the Wreath Laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery.
The keynote speaker will be Former Secretary of Defense - Chuck Hagel.
This of course comes at a cost, and this is where we're asking for your help. Anyone that knows Danny knows how much he deserves to go, and that he's really earned this.
I'm hoping to raise funds to cover the cost of the program, plane fare, and food/spending money for him. Danny is a great kid and I hate to ask, but I really want to make this happen for him.
I like to teach my kids that things should be earned not given. I know he's earned this academically, but he's willing to work to earn the cost as well.
For family out of town or anyone that wants to just simply donate, any amount helps and is greatly appreciated. Additionally, for those that are local, Danny would like to offer the following services for donation:
For a $25 donation, he'll mow any reasonably sized yard
For a $40 donation, he'll babysit for a date night, or mom's day out. He has experience babysitting babies/kids of all ages.
For a $40 donation he'll do one hour of balloon animal making at a birthday party or event of your choice. Here is a link to his facebook page if you want to check out his work:
