In dire straights and need help

Hello, my name is Eric and I'm a 50-year-old, hard-working native of San Diego, California. I'm normally the one that my friends turn to when they need help, but now it's me that needs help. My story is kinda long, so I'll do my best to summarize it.

Things don't come easy for me. It's like I have to work twice as hard to get half as much—and the people around me will attest to that. But whatever, I'm used to it. For me, that's just life. So I just try to stay positive and work through it. But the past couple of months, things have gotten way off course.

Living in America's most expensive city isn't easy. I should mention I've been homeless for about 2 1/2 - 3 years, since my friend/roommate passed away and his sister kicked me out. But besides that, I still work, but lately, the hours haven't been there, and now I'm in a really tight spot.

I've got all my belongings, which are mostly tools, in storage. When asked why I don't sell the tools, quite simply—I'm a jack-of-all-trades type, and tools make money, but in this case, just not fast enough. Along with saving my tools, my license, registration, and insurance have all expired because I don't have the money. But if I get caught driving, they will take my truck. I would like to point out that my truck was my grandpa's truck as well as my first vehicle that I've had since I was 17, so losing that would break me. Not to mention, hooked to the truck is the trailer I built about 6 months ago that, for a first time ever doing, came out much better than expected. I would lose that as well.

This is one of the hardest things I've ever done. To swallow my pride and ask for help is something I never thought I would ever need to do. While I am actively looking for another job and working the dwindling hours that I've been getting, all while doing twice the work for half the rewards and keeping a positive and upbeat facade, I appreciate anything that anyone can help out with.
