Hi, as many of you know, I am currently on a medical leave of absence as I'm unable to work due to a disability. In addition to my primary disability and after extensive imaging via MRI and ultrasound, I was diagnosed with adenomyosis and an inoperable intramural uterine fibroid earlier this year. The network of health professionals and specialists my insurance covers gave me one option to address these conditions: perform a hysterectomy.

I was fortunate to be referred to an OB/GYN who is a leader in alternative women's healthcare, but her practice does not accept insurance and the out-of-pocket cost for a wellness exam is $695. I recently discovered a second practice that offers an FDA approved new treatment for fibroids—this also is not covered by my PPO.

Being out of work and seeking modalities to support my disability and chronic pain condition has left me incapable of covering the expense to address the issues with my womb.

Likely due to underlying health conditions combined with immense stress spiking my cortisol levels, I have been menstruating for 18 days. It is imperative that I receive the care I need ASAP, which is why I am asking for your help.

$700 would cover an initial wellness exam with my OB/GYN of choice. Additional imaging will cost $400+.

I am currently trying to manage my monthly expenses, bodywork, and gym membership to manage my chronic pain on zero income while waiting for state disability insurance to process.
