Updated 4/15/24: On March 23rd, Matt and Jess were given the news that, from a medical standpoint, he has 6 months to 1 year to live. The medications he has to take via picc line are causing life threatening cardiac side affects. If he stops the medication, his life span would be even shorter. At this point, the only thing that will save his life is divine intervention. Matt has chosen to continue treatment and fight with everything he has.

As you can imagine, this news has presented many questions and concerns for his family and their future. In addition to his health battles, Matt and Jess are in the process of finding a new home as their family owned house they have rented for the last several years has been sold. As Matt's brother, my heart's desire is to see him and his family enjoying precious time together without the stress of figuring out where they will live. We humbly ask that you consider supporting Matt, Jessica and their girls as they navigate through this season. Hi, my name is David Clark and I've created this gofundme to raise money for my brother, Matt Clark and his family. Many of you know that the last several years of Matt's life have been overshadowed by one major health battle after another.

Due to complications from Marfan Syndrome, Matt has survived through multiple open heart surgeries, brain surgeries, stroke, esophageal perforation, countless endoscopies, paralyzed vocal cords, a micro bacterial infection in his chest cavity that is antibiotic resistant, and his entire aorta from collarbone to lower abdomen is now completely prosthetic.

Matt is currently in UF Health, Jacksonville, with two new strands of bacterial infections along with double pneumonia. Also, his hemoglobin keep dropping to critical levels so he has had multiple blood transfusions and continues to need them.

Matt's wife, Jessica, provides 24/7 care for him and their two daughters, Gracie and Lillie. Because of this, she could no longer work outside the home.

Matt's illness has been a long fight to survive. There is no time frame that would help plan how to navigate daily life. They are just trusting God and taking one day at a time.
