Love for Lucy

Lucy MacLean Pattison was born at 1:30am on June 20th, 2024. Weighing 6lb 14oz Labor and Delivery went smoothly, and mom and dad fell instantly in love with little Lucy.

Within 24 hours Lucy was transferred to the NICU at Wolfson Children’s Hospital and diagnosed with a congenital heart defect called d-Transposition of the Great Arteries. She had an 8 hour open heart surgery Monday, June 24th. Surgery went well and everything is looking good so far, all things considered. She will have at least a month of recovery in the NICU (or CVICU).

Bridget, Ben, and Lucy have felt so incredibly blessed with the support they’ve received from family and friends this week.

Despite living in what feels like an actual nightmare, Bridget and Ben have shown so much strength, and it’s all for Lucy.

Every ounce of their energy in the coming weeks (and beyond) will be focused on our little Lucy girl and her road to recovery.

Providing dozens of individual updates on Lucy has quickly proven to be tough on our family after long days in the hospital. So we hope this site can help alleviate the need to play telephone every day while still keeping our friends and family up to date. Please text me (Pamela) if you have any questions!

So many have asked how they can help. Donations are the best way to help at this time. Aside from medical bills, they will also be purchasing many new supplies to meet Lucy’s needs during recovery and beyond.

A lot of people have asked how they can help with food- Many of their meals will be on the go to and from the hospital.

Lucy has shown incredible resilience and strength. This is part of Lucy’s and our testimony to give glory to God. We are faithful, grateful for His Miracles, and for His LOVE FOR LUCY!
