Aurora Studio & Gallery’s mission is to offer a supportive art space to artists who have been affected by mental health needs, addiction and/or homelessness.
The program offers weekly workshops and collaborates with area artists who provide instruction. Over our six years of programming, participants have been able to utilize the arts to enhance expression and self-confidence; and network with area artists. The workshops have been a stepping stone for those who are not ready to participate independently in other art programs. But more importantly, the program has created community and friendships for individuals who were isolated.
Research shows that addictive behaviors are developed as a means to manage pain or an underlying trauma. Validating the underlying issues in a nonthreatening environment can assist individuals to accept themselves, move forward and lead more fulfilling lives.
Our workshops currently run ten months out of the year and our focus this year is GROWTH! With that in mind, we are continuing to collaborate with other area programs that focus on recovery; from either the stress of mental health needs or addiction or both. Our plan is to boost our outreach from 30 people per year to at least 60+ people per year.

*A donation of $200 pays for one person to attend an 8 week workshop: this fee includes cost of a Facilitator, a Peer Support Specialist and Visiting Artists.
*A donation of $100 pays for one person to attend an 8 week workshop: this fee includes cost of a Facilitator.
*A donation of $50 pays for one person to attend an 8 week workshop: this fee covers the cost a Peer Support Specialist.
*A donation of $25 pays for one person to attend an 8 week workshop: this fee covers the cost of art supplies.
*A donation of $250 or more will go into our general funds to expand our new outreach program.
