Olivianna got diagnosed in December 2017 at 6 months old with a grade 2 brain tumor. During one of her surgeries she suffered an extensive Intraventricular hemorrhage (brain bleed) where she ultimately coded on the operating table. Her doctors said she was lucky to have made it out of the OR due to the heavy amount of blood she had lost. Due to the bleed, Olivianna now has vision loss and suffers from epilepsy.
Olivianna has been a tough one for her medical team to figure out but one thing is certain that everyone agrees on, would be to have a service dog by her side to support her.
This dog is important to Olivianna because it can literally save her life. Viktor her father, is the sole provider for his family of four and just recently ran into some bad luck trying to acquire a puppy for Olivianna. They were scammed into sending money for a puppy that was not real by a fake breeder. They sent over hundreds of dollars and are still disputing the charges. The FAKE breeder took advantage of their vulnerability because they needed the puppy to start training for Olivianna’s needs. The “breeder” knew all of this information and still took full advantage of the Jimenez family.
We are asking for help to get Olivianna her dog, help with getting proper training for the pup, which service animal training is not cheap and can vary from 7,000-20,000. One thing that is certain is how much her little life depends on this dog.
On top of the stress of disputing money around the Holiday time, the Jimenez family was just informed that Olivianna stops breathing over 15 times while she sleeps, so her brain is keeping her awake as a warning. Olivianna’s brain is warning her that she will stop breathing and not receive enough oxygen if she falls asleep. With no sleep, it leads to multiple seizures. Having a trained dog in seizures will give the Jimenez family some peace of mind especially though the night.
