Jayda began having stomach issues back in May. Because stomach issues are one of the hardest to diagnose, she suffered with pains and vomiting for over a month. We tried everything and eventually it kind of stopped for awhile. Well, here we are again ,November and we are having more stomach issues. Although, these are different than before in the sense she is not vomiting but having excruciating pains both in the stomach and in the back. These pains are so violent, that sometimes it causes her to just collapse on the floor groaning and crying. The only thing we can find thus far to help ease her pain is by her showering in warm water. Therefore she takes up to 15 showers each day. She has lost 12 Lbs and has gone from my happy, vivacious, funny girl, to a child who never goes outside to play, barely eats and lays in bed all day long.
After a week of being seen at both ER's multiple times and having blood and urine drawn and fluids given she eventually got a CT scan which ended up showing that the walls of her small intestine are thickening. We do not know why this is happening so her pediatrician thought it best to head down to UC Davis tonight, where they will admit her for pain managemnt and monitoring. She will also be seeing a GI specialist.
Because we live so far from Sac we will be having to take time off of work to be able to be there to support Jayda as well as paying for housing and a rental car as we did not feel ours was safe to travel. A friend gave me the idea to start a page for those who wanted to contribute and I know some have already asked about how to donate.
We appreciate all the love and support we have received already and any contribution will go to helping us help Jayda. We are confident UC Davis will help us find out what to do so we can get back to our life with our amazing daughter!
Thank you to everyone!
