Medical Aid To Gaza

Salaam alaikum,

One of the doctors from Cambridge is going to Gaza next week as part of an emergency medical crew. The team are going with supplies, but are looking to buy some extra items. Could the community help with this?

The intention is that the items will be used by the doctors / nurses on their trip, and will be left for continued use as the local staff require (previous teams have all done this and has been agreed with staff there). The total amount we would like to raise is £4,000 as there is a limit to what each individual can take in.

General items:

* Working smartphone(s), ideally refurbished

* Power banks

* Solar battery back chargers

* Small efficient torches

* Sleeping bag

* Energy bars

* Carrying cases

Medical supplies:

* Scrubs

* Theatre shoes

* Theatre flood lights (magnetic backs)

* Block needles for pain relief / anaesthesia (only 50 / 80 mm from Pajunk)

* Spinal anaesthesia needles

* XS gloves

* Theatre caps

* Wound dressings / packs

* Tourniquets

* Metaraminol / Phenylephrine

* Patient slide sheets

* Water purification straw / slidesheets

Any funds raised will go towards buying the above equipment, used solely for the trip to Gaza and all the equipment, will be left there. In the event that they are not able to procure some of the equipment and have some funds surplus, the money will be donated to Medical Aid for Palestine (MAP) https://www.map.org.uk/ (The organisation negotiating and arranging for the medical teams to go into Gaza).
