My Cancer Journey -update MAY 2025

My name is Cathy, but most people call me Cath or (BRUB - by my daughter).

I have just been slammed by a Cancer diagnosis & it has shocked me to the core.

This photo is my life - ‘MY KIDS’ & I have to get through this for them, I need to be here, because I am their world.

I am constantly working through challenges that my kids go through daily & do it with pride, because these two are amazing young people & I am so proud.

I am the glue that holds this family together.

I am a single mum to two beautiful young adults with disabilities & mental health issues - so trying to survive on a carers pension, doing odd jobs (decluttering & organising storage in people’s homes, wrapping gifts etc…) running a household, kids school & work, medications, psychology & therapy appointments, it is not getting any easier with added food costs, petrol, mortgage rates & unexpected expenses & emergencies.

Combine this with being sick & on my own, the stress is taking it’s toll.

I am struggling & hate to ask, but if anyone can help me, I would be forever grateful.

To be able to pay the extra bills, medical expenses, my home & recover from surgery, without the added stress of trying to find the money I don’t have, will make this battle with cancer a lot easier.
