Stand by Jennifer in Her Time of Need

The last 6 years have been a test on faith, friendships, financial well-being, and health. Most of you all know the story of the trials Earl and I have gone through. It's definitely not for the weak at heart. To ask for anything is very, very hard. Maybe we've asked for too much because friendships have been severed and redefined. If we could do anything differently, we obviously would. It honestly breaks my whole heart to have to ask for anything. If you've never had desperate times or don't know how you will survive financially, then consider yourself fortunate and blessed. Rock bottom does have a basement; as a matter of fact, it seems to be even have a cellar.

I had an infection in my left foot before Chrismas. They did surgery and took out some of that. But felt there may be infection in the bone. I was sent home with a months worth if antibiotics. Fast forward to a week and a half ago. My leg had started swelling again and i was in extreme pain to the point i could get around very well. I have been out of work most of this time. I ended up back in the hospital and was transferred to UVA. Where I currently am now. They did a procedure yesterday and took out some more fluid at the incision site and took multiple biopsies of the bone. Those results will not be back for a few days. They also have diagnoised me with Charcot neuroarthropathy. That is where the bones in my foot have broken down and restructured my foot over the years of having neuropathy. A mild case means physical therapy for a while and getting my sugar under control. Worse case is my life expectancy is reduced and there's a possibility of amputation. Everything depends on the test results. Im still in alot of pain that runs up my calf, so thats also concerning. Because I've been out of work and still cant get insurance (which i am working on) we are in a really bad situation of not being able to pay our car payment, buy food and gas. We do go to the Louisa resource center for some food but its not much food and alot of sweets we cant eat. We are also working on updating social service with our situation but that takes time and still wont help us in other ways. I know some of you will pass judgement on us saying why haven't you tried this or that. Trust me when I say we have tried and are still working on some things but its just not happening fast enough and not as easy for those of us that live in this country to get the help we need.
