Two nights ago my Mom, Maya and I went for a walk when we got attack by a dog around 7:30 pm.  My mom recognized the kind of the dog it was and told me to grab maya before the dog saw her but by the time I was able to pick her up the dog had already been running towards us and grabbed her by the neck and started pulling on her. I immediately threw myself on maya to protect her and helped her fight off the dog, my mom from the back kept trying to pull him/her off of maya and I. The dog was not wearing a collar or leash and for what seems hours we fought the dog bare handed. My niece who also came with us ran as I told her to and got on top of a car and called the police. We had a couple who were brave enough to come out and help us fight the dog off maya until the cops and ambulances finally arrived. My mom dislocated three of her fingers and her forearm had been cut open needing medical attention. Maya has three bite wounds on her face, two on her neck, One of her chest and one on her shoulder where an artery  was bit and wouldn’t stop bleeding. She was in the hospital for two days and received the best attention I could ever ask for  at LeadER animal hospital. Thankfully my injuries are not as extreme as my dogs or mothers. But my wounds are too exposed And painful to return to work.  I would never ask for help if my family and I didn’t need it. We havent been able to work due to our injuries. Maya alone was $3,000.
