Help Us Rebuild Nepal

Hello my name is Chanda Dawadi and I am orginially from Nepal, currently based on New Jersey.

A devastating 7.8 Richter earthquake struck Nepal on April 25th, 2015. Around 8,000 already lost their lives in this disaster and the death toll is expected to rise in coming days. Over 14,000 have already been injured. Over 250,000 houses have been partially or fully destroyed making many people completely homeless. This powerful earthquake turned several historic structures, temples including world heritage sites into rumble. Many villages have been badly affected and a lot of people are still missing. Personally, it has been a painful period of our life as we live miles away from our home, families and friends.

As architects and planners, and a Nepalese citizens we are committed to play an active role in a relief efforts and rebuilding process. Many of our friends and colleagues, majority of them are architects and engineers, have already started working in relief efforts, many without any safety helmets, masks & gloves and risking their own lives.  See this: https://www.facebook.com/apil.kc/posts/1058123134198604?pnref=story. We are raising funds to support thier initiative in relief and rebuilding process . Our target is to reach out to rural communities which are badly affected by earthquake.
