My friend Elizabeth has always been a brilliant, compassionate and loving mother and wife. She goes out of her way to support and care for others. Elizabeth is a loving mother to her 2 children and her husband of 19 years. Elizabeth kind spirit has a way of bringing the best out of others. Even in sickness, she tries to put a smile on other faces, even though she is struggling not to cry from her pain.
A year ago Elizabeth began to have several different symptoms of something wrong with her body. She was dizzy, blurred vision and nausea. After many test she was diagnosed with a very rare disease called Neuromyelitis Optica Syndrome (NMO). Only 1% of the world has this disease and there is no cure. It can cause blindness, paralysis and can attack her respiratory system. After only a year, Elizabeth is bedridden and is cared for by her 15 yr old daughter, 10 yr old son and her husband. She will need 4 infusions a year for the rest of her life at a cost of $10,000 each. She also gets steroid infusions at $1000 each and medicine runs several hundred dollars a month.
Whatever you can do to help support this family will be greatly appreciated. They could desperately use any assistance that people are able to bless them with. Thank you for taking the time to read Elizabeth's story
